A Difficult Decision

0707260104

The picture above is one I took on holiday, it is Mertos Bay, Kefalonia. Mike and I had a wonderful time while we were there, despite the fact we had a fire on the hill behind the hotel and a minor earthquake.

While we were there I had a lot of time to think and I made some decisions. One of them was that, in order to get on with the things I want to achieve, I am going to have to give up J Land, at least until I have completed some of the tasks I have set myself.

I’ve been writing for over two years now and have made lots of lovely friends in that time and learned all sorts of interesting things from you. But, I have realised that it is taking up too much of my time. I love reading about your lives and thoughts but it’s reached the point where reading Journals is stopping me from living my own life and that just isn’t right. And how can I write and receive such lovely comments, if I don’t read the commenters Journal in return? I never started writing to get readers and comments but somehow it just happened

I can’t just be selective and read one or two, how could I ever pick a small number of favourites? So, for the time being, I am switching off ALL of my Alerts and will not be writing any more, unless something really interesting happens.

Take care,

Linda xx.

Course I respect your decision and will miss you.  Hmmm, I'll email you if I get anything exciting going on.  I know you must be so busy, especially with your daughter and grandaughter nearer to you.  Hugs as ever, you know I have enjoyed reading you.  Tells x

What a shame but I do understand as it is so time consuming! I have a lot more free time now that I am retired. I would not have been able to read so many journals or leave comments had I been working full time. It has been lovely getting to know you especially as we have a common friend in Liz Henfield. Please let me know if you decide to start writing again. I will miss you. love Conniexx

Sad day!  But I totally understand where you are coming from as I had the same dilema recently.  However, I couldn't go 'cold turkey' like you so I have limited myself to only a handful of journals that I check on once a week and have switched off all alerts.  That way, I control it and not the other way around!!!!

I will miss your writings as they are always so full of life and interesting topics. And, I will especially miss your beautiful pictures of little 'out of the way places' of a land far from me!  I will check back regularly for the occasional update should something exciting occur (and I'm sure it will!).  The vision of your chickens being saved in Sainsburys bags will stay with me forever!!!

I hope life continues to be kind to you and yours

Hugs

What a beautiful photo, I so want to go there now.

I  know what you mean, when I first started writing on here it was a passion, I would sit here for up to two hours every day writing about any and everything, but now its when I have some spare time, we will miss you and your stories but good luck for the future and its been lovely knowing you

I understand and had to do the same thing myself. I pop in on 7-8 people that I am quite close to, and that's just all I can do. I've 'splained that and I think people understand. You were good to me during a very tough time, and I'll never forget it.

much love,

andi

ps: have you talked to Mike yet about adopting me????

We had earthquakes every couple of days when I lived in New Zealand. I actually got to quite enjoy them in a strange kind of way.

The beach looks beautiful.

Awww Linda! I was in the same position earlier in the year, I had so much going on, and my journal just fell by the wayside. I am back again, but who knows for how long, real life is just too important. The love of writing is also important, its a special hobby, but it's finding that balance and I hope you find it...it would be a shame not to read your journal ever again???
Take care my love

Hi Linda, I so know what you mean about having proper time to do journals and get on with life ~ especially when it's so hectic! I only write and comment now when I can ~ people mainly understand and if they don't it's tough! I love the Greek Islands and will go to Kefalonia one day ~ especially now I've seen that beautiful photo! Anyway mate, you take care, hope to "see" you again sometime. Love Debbie xx
